Fibers
Oriental rugs are often made of wool, silk or cotton. Each one reacts differently to water, heat and cleaning products.
Dyes
Some dyes can bleed when a rug gets wet. We look at the rug first so the cleaning method fits its colors.
Construction
Hand-knotted and hand-woven rugs have fringe and edges that need gentle handling. Rough cleaning can wear them down.
